Because we want all parents to be able to use the app in an accessible way, we are working hard to make the parent app fully digitally accessible.
We do this according to the WCAG guidelines, so that we will comply with the European Accessibility Act by June 2025. An accessible digital environment is not only a legal requirement, but it also reflects the way we want to work: open, engaged, and approachable. By offering an equally accessible online experience for everyone, we make sure parents can always stay supported and informed by us without barriers.
The status of our digital accessibility
Partou commissioned an independent agency to assess the accessibility status of the parent app. The conclusion of the research is that the app does not yet fully meet international accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1 at level AA).
Known outstanding accessibility issues
The evaluation identified the following areas for improvement:
- Some images and icons lack a proper description for screen readers.
- The structure and reading order of screens do not always work well with assistive technology.
- Some text and icons have insufficient contrast or are difficult to enlarge.
- Not all elements can be properly operated with screen readers or by keyboard.
- Error messages and status updates are not always communicated clearly.
These improvements are currently being addressed in the parent app so that it becomes increasingly accessible for all users.
