We plan together
“As a planner, I work closely with the location manager,” Sharona explains. “Every month, we go over the waiting list, any special circumstances, and how things are going at the location. We also review the staff schedule. If anything changes, we take it into account right away.”
Figuring out schedules and group assignments is all about deploying the early childhood educators as effectively as possible. This ensures that every group has the right staffing levels while also freeing up more space for children still on the waiting list.
Here’s how it works in practice
The schedule changes almost daily. This is due, among other things, to:
- Parents changing their childcare days,
- Cancellations,
- New applications,
- Or changes in the on-site team.
Through constant communication between the scheduler and the location manager, we keep the schedule up-to-date and realistic. Sharona: “Sometimes I see that a group assignment could be organized more efficiently. Then I dive into the staffing details, see where we can make adjustments or optimize the schedule. That way, we can sometimes suddenly create more space and make extra parents happy.”
More time for what really matters
Because planning is managed centrally, locations have more time for what really matters: the children. From orientation periods to parent meetings and helping new children get started.
“When I know a child is about to start, I coordinate that with the location. They provide a warm welcome and can really focus on the orientation period. Then I know: it’s all taken care of.”
Ready for tomorrow’s world
Good planning is more than just a puzzle. It helps ensure a good start for both the child and the parent. Sharona: “The sooner we know who’s coming and when, the better we can coordinate everything. That gives everyone peace of mind. And it helps us offer the right spot at the right time.”
