What are the four pedagogical goals?
Marianne Riksen Walraven demonstrated a link between children's development and how adults interact with them. She formulated four pedagogical goals crucial for children's development.
1. Providing a emotionally safe base
We are a safe harbour where children feel seen and heard. Here, they are encouraged to be themselves completely, enabling them to freely express their emotions and build bonds. They learn to trust themselves, others and the world around them.
2. Promoting personal qualities
Having friends around makes you happier. We teach children to interact respectfully, play together, and communicate effectively. They learn social skills, how to make friends, ask for help, contribute to a group and engage in democratic citizenship (child participation).

4. Transmitting norms and values
We teach children to be honest, kind, and helpful, leading by example and consciously guiding their interactions with others. Hygiene, manners, healthy habits, respect for diversity and inclusion, caring for others, handling materials and the environment responsibly and being environmentally conscious are emphasized.
This is how we do It
The pedagogical goals form the foundation of our building blocks and craftsmanship. To see how this is put into practice, please read our Partou Pedagogy.
