What does a VE coach do?
The VE coach is regularly present at the location to enhance the quality of the VE offering, as described in our pedagogical policy, for toddlers who qualify. The coach supports childcare professionals by coaching on:
- educational-pedagogical practices
- the child tracking system to monitor children's development
- parental involvement
- collaboration with and transition to school (continuity of learning)
- the care structure
- the design of the play-learning environment
We consider it important that our preschool education is of high quality. VE coaches help improve this quality in various ways:
- Working with childcare professionals to enhance team professionalism. This is achieved through discussions on content, observations, and sharing experiences. This way, employees learn from the results and from each other.
- Ensuring quality is maintained at various levels: organizational, location, group, and individual level. This is done by creating a coaching plan, setting goals, implementing them, and evaluating them.
- Regularly reviewing how work is done in the VE group. This is linked to a cycle of planning, doing, checking, and adjusting (PDCA cycle).
- Actively participating in further training and applying it in the VE group.
