‘We share information with the parents through the parent portal.’ says Caitlin Wesselink. For example, ‘parents can opt out of daycare for a day or a holiday. Or send a message when something special or unusual is going on. And we share your child’s fun events and moments. That way, you don’t have to miss a thing and you can keep track of how the day is going.’
Naps, bottles and dirty diapers
All naps, bottles, and dirty diaper are shared in the portal until your child is a year old. ‘And after lunch, we share a nice story. After the first year, we only keep track of the naps, because there usually is a clear daily routine. We do write a story about how the day has been for every child. And of course – if parents have given permission – we post some nice photos and videos. Because they speak louder than words.’
Of course you can also call
Are you wondering how your child is going? Feel free to call. ‘Even if it is 100 times a day. It’s nice to get an update, especially when your baby had to cry at saying goodbye. As soon as your child has been comforted and is playing again we will try to send a photo. Because mostly the tears are gone, once you are out of sight. And it’s a nice reassurance to receive a photo of your happy baby.’
Face to face
‘There is also a verbal handover when you drop off and pick up your child. We like to talk to the parents in person, to find out how things are going and if there are any special particularities.’
Always up-to-date
‘A convenient feature of the parent app is the up-to-date info that tells you exactly when your baby sleeps. This allows you to adjust the time you pick up your baby and, for example, to take it a bit easier.
