What to expect during the tour
During a tour of a Partou location, you will get a good impression of the location and how we work. During the tour, you can also view specific areas, such as the sleeping area, the outdoor area, or where the children eat and play. During this tour of your chosen location, you will discover:
- The location and its possibilities
- The team: meet the location manager and educational staff
- The atmosphere
- Our educational policy
- How everything is organized in practical terms
- Whether this location is really right for you!
Tour of the after school care center
Are you coming for a tour of an after school care center? Then your child is welcome to come along! That way, he or she can get a feel for the atmosphere, hear all about the activities we do, and maybe even influence the choice of after school care center. At Partou, we believe child participation is important, so we would love to hear what your child thinks of the location!
Tour of the preschool center
Our preschool, which welcomes children from the age of 2, is excellent preparation for elementary school. At some locations, we also offer preschool education (VE) for children who need a little extra help with language, motor skills, and social skills. During a tour of the preschool, you can learn more about our VE programs in addition to the topics mentioned above.

Want to visit multiple locations? You can!
Sometimes you don't know exactly which childcare location is best for you. In that case, it's perfectly fine to schedule multiple tours at different locations. This allows you to compare them and make a choice that feels right for all of you. Each location has its own character and team, so it's nice to experience that atmosphere in person.
Who gives the tour?
The tour of a location is always given by a Partou colleague who has been working there for a long time and has experience in childcare. This may be the location manager themselves, but also an assistant location manager or an experienced educational professional. We believe it is important that the person giving the tour is able to answer as many of your questions as possible.
How long does a tour take?
A tour usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes. This depends on the size of the location and how many questions you as parents may have.
How much does a tour cost?
A tour of our locations is free of charge and completely non-binding. You are not committed to anything.
What happens after the tour?
After the tour, we will discuss the next steps together. Are you already registered or still on the waiting list? The location does not have insight into the planning, but you can ask questions about availability.
Once your child has been definitively placed and the contract has been signed, there will be an intake interview with the location manager before the start, followed by a settling-in period so that both your child and you as a parent can get used to the daycare center.
Questions after the tour
If you still have questions after the tour when you get home that you forgot to ask, that's no problem at all. All the information you receive can be overwhelming. We are always available to provide you with the answers. Don't hesitate to call the location!
What if you can't attend the tour?
Are you unexpectedly unable to attend the scheduled tour? No worries. Just let the location know, and we'll simply schedule a new time that suits you better. We're happy to help you find a solution.
Tips for choosing childcare
Choosing a daycare, preschool or after school care center involves a lot of information. You want a nice place close to home or school, with caring staff. But what else should you look for? To help you, we have put together a checklist for visiting nurseries, preschool facilities, and after school care centers. This will help you make an informed choice and feel good about sending your child to childcare.

What is discussed during a tour?
The tour is the perfect opportunity to ask anything you want to know. Think of practical matters such as how to get used to the new environment, what the daily routine looks like, or how we deal with nutrition and safety. Do you have any specific wishes or concerns? Please let us know. Even after the tour, you can always contact your designated contact person, often the location manager, if you have any questions.
Below, we have listed the most important topics that are covered during a tour:
Getting used to daycare
A new environment is exciting, both for your child and for you. That is why we offer a settling-in period, so that your child can get used to the group, the teachers, and the daily routine at their own pace. During the tour, we will be happy to tell you more about how this works.
A glimpse into the daily routine
What does a day at the daycare center or after school care center look like? During the tour, we will show you how we provide structure and variety, with time for play, rest, and fun activities. This will give you a good idea of what your child experiences here every day.
Parent contact and communication
We believe it is important that you stay well informed about how your child is doing. Our parent app sends you updates, photos, and messages from the pedagogical staff. During the tour, we will be happy to tell you how we work with parents and how you can contact our pedagogical professionals if necessary or desired.
Safety and hygiene
The safety and health of your child are our top priority. From our safe outdoor areas to the hygiene rules in the groups: during the tour, we will show you how we ensure a pleasant and safe environment for all children.
Educational vision and development
At Partou, we encourage every child to develop at their own pace. We would be happy to tell you about the Partou Educational Approach and how we use play to develop social, motor, and cognitive skills.
